Washoe County is seeking public input on processes for dedication of water rights

Community Services Department hosting an open house Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017.

Reno, Nevada. Aug. 17, 2017. The Washoe County Community Services Department’s Planning and Building Division is hosting an open house regarding a proposed amendment to Washoe County Code Chapter 110 (Development Code). The proposed update focuses on revising the County’s water rights dedication requirements in recognition of the evolution of processes and procedures in the State Engineer’s Office and other factors. In part, the amendment aims to limit the County’s water rights role to reviewing projects for conformance with State water law.

Following public input, the amendment will be discussed by the Washoe County Planning Commission. The public hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.
